Ivan Dixon

Ivan has been with Gan Shan for over two years. His favorite aspect of working here is the people - "We're a pretty small crew, and everyone knows their position is important to our success," Ivan says. "Everyone has a level of respect for each other that I haven't found at many other places, and I really appreciate that."

Originally from California, Ivan moved to North Carolina when he was younger before migrating to New York to pursue a career in film. Later, he moved to Asheville to be closer to family, and found a position here at Gan Shan West. He's been an important member of our team ever since.

One of Ivan's favorite dishes at Gan Shan is Mapo Doufu, the most unique dish we offer. He describes it as intense and versatile, and a surprisingly good meal for breakfast.

When asked why people want to work at Gan Shan, Ivan believes "we have a community mindset, which makes working here special and fun. We get to see a lot of the same people and they're always nice. It makes it easy to have a good day. It's much easier to have a good day here than a bad day."
